A Gatton man is floating on cloud nine after discovering he won $200,000 from the very first Lucky Lotteries ticket he bought.
The Queenslander held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1745, drawn Monday 22 December 2025 and he looks forward to a $200,000 prize.
When an official from The Lott called to confirm the thrilling news, the winning man was in the middle of his workday and was caught completely off guard.
“Oh my lord!” he gasped.
“I guess this is the dream. Sh*t.
“I never thought I’d actually win! This is the happiest day of my life.
“This is my first time playing Lucky Lotteries – my first ever ticket into this game. I’ve played other lottery games before, but never this one.
“I can’t stop shaking. This is unreal.”
Despite feeling dizzy with dollars, the winning man shared the prize would mean he could finally book long-overdue flights to reunite with family.
“I honestly don’t know what to think right now,” he said.
“I’ll finally be able to upgrade to a better car.
“I’ll also be able to afford to visit my family. It’s been a long time in between visits home.”
His winning entry of five consecutive numbers was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $19.36 million for draw 1746, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $2.19 million for draw 11053.
In FY25, 182 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot Prize winning entries across Australia won more than $20.5 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
