Three hard-working professionals from the Melbourne CBD are now superstitions after their private syndicate scored division one in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw – straight after they rubbed a Buddha’s belly.
The private syndicate was one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3901, drawn on Saturday 8 December 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $439,800.84.
As well as winning the coveted division one prize, their entry also won division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering their total prize to $454,900.74.
Speaking with a Tatts official to claim their prize today, the syndicate leader shared they bought their ticket together in the hope of gaining a better chance of winning the division one prize.
“We decided to pool some money together and buy a ticket for a better chance of a win!” the syndicate leader explained.
“We all liked the idea of a win, so thought we might as well give it a go.”
He admitted he was superstitious, and called upon his friends for some help.
“When I went to buy the ticket, I turned to my mate who is a Buddhist and asked him to rub the Buddha’s belly for luck,” he said happily.
“Turns out, it worked! We won division one!
“Thank you all so much!”
The private syndicate, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased the winning entry at Central Station News, Shop Lg 07A Melbourne Central, 211 La Trobe Street, Melbourne.
Central Station News owner Susie Tang said she was thrilled to have sold another division one winning ticket.
“That is really, really exciting,” she said.
“I was so happy for the customer when I found out!
“It is great news, it is amazing.
“We hope to sell more division one winning tickets.
“This is actually our second division one win this year! Hopefully we have a third before the year ends!”
