A Cobar man has gone about his week as usual, without realising he had a division one winning Saturday Lotto ticket stuffed in his wallet.
The elusive winner held one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4175, drawn Saturday 24 July 2021. Each entry won a division one prize of $834,643.56.
Sharing his shock with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the regional New South Wales man revealed he’s just checked his winning entry at his local newsagent.
“Thank you very much,” he laughed.
“I’m very pleased about that!
“I’m standing here completely blank. I’m in shock. It certainly hasn’t sunk in yet.
“I don’t know what to say. It’s a bit overwhelming.
“I’ve been playing for a very long time. I come in here every week, so it’s incredible to have a win!”
With a division one win about to balloon his bank account, the stunned man said he’d wait until the news sunk in before making any plans.
“Gosh, I really don’t know,” he said.
“I’ll have to have a think. It hasn’t hit me yet, but maybe when it does I’ll have some kind of idea!”
The life-changing entry was purchased at Cobar Newsagency, 15 Barton Street, Cobar.
Cobar Newsagency owner Anni Van Der Westhuizen said they were thrilled the winner had come forward and claimed their prize.
“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold since taking over the business in December,” she explained.
“We’re so happy to know this life-changing win has gone to a local person from our small town.
“We’re so thrilled for him and it was such a pleasure to deliver that exciting news.
Congratulations to him!”
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4175 on 24 July 2021 were 30, 12, 26, 16, 40 and 27, while the supplementary numbers were 13 and 15.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4175 – three from Victoria and one each from New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 257 so far this calendar year, including 71 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In 2020, Saturday Lotto created 122 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 312 division one winning in Saturday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
