A Tiwi man is eagerly dusting off his passport and researching European holidays, ready for the moment he can travel again thanks to his $1 million Monday & Wednesday Lotto division one win.

The happy Territorian held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4054, drawn Monday 22 February 2021. He takes home a division one prize worth $1 million.

As well as scoring the coveted division one prize, the stoked bloke’s marked System 8 entry also scored him division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering his total prize to $1,005,601.30.

When an official from The Lott broke the news to the winner this morning, he confessed he had been completely oblivious to his good fortune.

“Thank you very much! That’s very, very nice!” he exclaimed.

“I had no idea I had won anything. I’ve just turned on my phone and saw your missed calls.

“I usually check my tickets every morning, so you beat me to it.

“It’s a very nice feeling knowing one million dollars is coming my way.

“I play every week. I always use the same numbers. They are the birthdays of myself, my wife and my children.

“It’s great my System 8 entry gave me a bit of a bonus too with my other divisional wins!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a newly-minted millionaire, the thrilled man said the win had come at the perfect time for him to enjoy his retirement.

“I’m newly retired! Just in the last year or so, so it’s nice to know we’ll be covered for my retirement!” he declared.

“As soon as we can, we’ll go travelling. It’s been a bit hard being retired but not being able to go anywhere.

“Once the borders open up, we’ll head straight to Europe and make a big trip around!”

The winning entry was purchased at Leanyer Newsagency, Shop 18, Hibiscus Shoppingtown, Corner Leanyer Drive and Vanderlin Drive, Leanyer.

Leanyer Newsagency team member Louise Rieck said she was thrilled her outlet had sold another division one winning entry.

“It’s great! It’s been an exciting day in-store today!” she exclaimed.

“This is the eleventh division one winning entry we’ve sold at the store. The last one was in May last year.

“We’ve also sold a couple of division two winning entries this year, so we are on a bit of a winning streak.

“We’ve told all our customers that we’ve sold a winner, and they are as excited as we are.

“We are thrilled it has been won by a local and a regular customer.

“Congratulations to our winner! We hope he enjoys every moment of his prize.”
