A Leichhardt mother on a whirlwind tour of Europe has been left in a state of shock after discovering her and her friend’s $1 million Monday & Wednesday Lotto win while overseas.
The winning woman and her private syndicate of seven friends held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4181 on Wednesday 11 May 2022. Each division one winning entry took home $1 million.
Confirming her win with an official from The Lott, the syndicate leader shared she’d predicted the win would occur while she was away from home.
“I actually told my friends, ‘Now that I’m going overseas, we’ll probably win the lottery!’” she proclaimed.
“So, when one of them sent through a photo the winning numbers and I managed to put two and two together, I was flabbergasted.
“There’s eight of us that have been playing together for a few years and it’s incredible that we’ve finally won the big one.
“We’re all over the moon! The feeling is unreal and we’re still processing it.
“One friend is putting a deposit down on a new unit, others are just so excited and haven’t had a chance to think about what they will do.
“I just hope that I get to experience this again one day!”
The winning entry was purchased at Stanmore Newsagency, 130 Percival Road, Stanmore.
