Dubbo is fast building a reputation as a Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize winning hotspot after two local lotteries players walked away with major prizes just two days apart.
The first win to fall in Dubbo this week went to a local man who won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10307, drawn Monday 26 August 2019.
Just 24 hours later, a professional Dubbo woman scored the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1446, drawn Tuesday 27 August 2019.
This is the third Lucky Lotteries major prize to land in the city this year. In April, a young Dubbo mum scored the Jackpot Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10284 and scored the entire jackpot prize of $4,920,000.
Sleepless night for Dubbo man
A Dubbo man has confessed he hasn’t slept a wink since he checked his lottery ticket and discovered he won $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The happy winner won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10307, drawn Monday 26 August 2019.
As well as winning the guaranteed 1st Prize, the elated man also won a consolation prize of $2,000, bolstering his total bounty to $102,000.
Sharing his joy with a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the happy man recounted how he discovered the life-changing news.
“I checked my ticket last night and saw that I had won,” he explained.
“I couldn’t sleep all night. My mind was racing so fast.
“I’ve never won anything in my life. It’s unbelievable and fantastic!
“It’s still sinking in!”
The happy winner also recounted how he was inspired to purchase his ticket.
“A friend of mine, who has since passed away, had been playing Lucky Lotteries for years and told me that he always bought ten numbers,” he explained.
“So when I was in town the other day I saw a sign for Lucky Lotteries and thought I’d grab a ticket with ten numbers.
“I saw it there and gave it a go and it came good. I guess I’ve got my friend to thank for that!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the happy man said he was waiting to see the prize land in his bank account.
“I haven’t told anyone yet as I want to make sure it is real,” he laughed.
“Once it’s in my bank account that’s when I’ll make plans.
“I’m sure I will find something to do with it.”
The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry of 10 consecutive numbers at Newsextra on Macquarie, 117 Macquarie St, Dubbo.
Newsextra on Macquarie owner Jan Grady said she was excited that Dubbo’s newest newsagency had sold a winning entry.
“Wahoo! This is the first 1st Prize winning ticket we’ve sold!” she exclaimed.
“We’ll be celebrating the win in store with our customers all week.
“They are over the moon for us. Since we opened our doors 18 months ago all of our customers have been waiting for us to sell a major prize.
“We’re the only newsagency in Macquarie Street to bring in a 1st Prize winner.
“We’ve been waiting for this day!
“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the best with their prize!”
