Lottery officials are urgently seeking the Mawson Lakes resident or visitor who purchased a $1 million winning Monday & Wednesday X Lotto ticket nearly a year ago, as the deadline to claim the prize is fast approaching.

The mystery winner may be completely unaware that they've been sitting on the life-changing ticket for almost 12 months.

The elusive player held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4325 on Wednesday 27 September 2023. Each entry scored $1 million.

The entry was unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way to contact the winner to break the life-changing news and must wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

In South Australia, lottery prizes must be collected within 12 months after the draw date. Once 12 months has passed, the unclaimed money is forfeited to the Lotteries Commission of South Australia, which has a prize claim process and associated administration costs.

From Monday 20 May 2024, Monday & Wednesday X Lotto changed to a single lottery game called Weekday Windfall across Australia (excluding WA).

The division one winning entry was purchased at BP Mawson Lakes, 603-615 Salisbury Highway, Mawson Lakes.

The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre said time was ticking for the mystery player to come forward to claim and to claim their million-dollar prize and urged all players to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“Time is running out for this mystery millionaire. In South Australia lottery winners have just one year from the draw date to claim their prize before it is forfeited to the Lotteries Commission of South Australia, which has a prize claim process and associated administration costs,” she said.

“It’s likely our mystery winner has been going about their year as normal with no idea they became an overnight millionaire almost a year ago!

“Can you imagine if you’ve been unknowingly holding the golden ticket worth $1 million for an entire year?

“We’re urging all players who purchased a Monday & Wednesday X Lotto ticket from BP Mawson Lakes to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“This is a great reminder to all players to register their tickets to a player card or online account. If this player had registered their ticket, they would have already been united with their million-dollar treasure.

“Make sure you check your wallets, handbags, car glovebox or anywhere you may have an old ticket, because the winner could be you and you could be planning what to do with your prize!

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 immediately to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
