A Victorian footy fan doesn’t know how Saturday night’s game ended after being distracted by a different type of win – seeing his TattsLotto numbers appear across the bottom of the screen.

The unsuspecting winner held one of the ten division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 3877 on 15 September 2018.  Each entry won the division one prize of $408,233.51.

When speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm the win, the winner revealed how he discovered and first reacted to his good fortune.

“Gee, they look a lot like my numbers,” he thought before jumping onto the Lott website and realising he was a division one winner and more than $400,000 richer!

“It was a bit of a shock to the system. You don’t expect it to happen!

“I checked it about a 100 times and then showed my wife.

“We didn’t have anything to celebrate with, so we had a cup of tea.”

He shared the winning news with his kids the following day and explained “They couldn’t believe it either!”

The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his system 8 entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

“I used to teach maths until I retired, so I know how it all works – how to work out how many entries are in System tickets.

“It’s funny how it has now come around to deliver a windfall.”

A TattsLotto system 8 ticket allows players to select eight numbers per game, and is equivalent to 28 games.

In addition to his division one prize, the retired maths teacher won 12 division three prizes and 15 division four prizes, bringing his total prize to $420,986.96.

The recent retiree looks forward to fast-tracking a move with his wife to the seaside town of Torquay and to sharing the prize with family.

“Our kids are at the stage where they’re buying houses – so it’s a good boost for them,” he said.

“The winning numbers were family birthdays, so it seems right to share it with them.”

So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 128 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3877 on Saturday 15 September 2018 were 3, 7, 15, 44, 45 and 1, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 34.

Across Australia there were ten division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3877 – four from Queensland, three from Victoria, two from New South Wales, and one from Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 290 so far this calendar year, including 77 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

Last financial year, there were 290 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $302.7 million.
