A Victorian man, spending Christmas with friends and family in the Sunshine State, is heading home with some Christmas cheer and an additional $823,000 after winning a Saturday Gold Lotto division one prize.
The Melbourne resident held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4323, drawn Saturday 24 December 2022. Each division one winning entry scored $823,588.63.
“The blood immediately drained from my face when I checked my ticket on Boxing Day. My family thought the Christmas ham had gone off!” he laughed when confirming his win with an official from The Lott.
“I’m in Queensland for Christmas and normally play Saturday Gold Lotto, so thought I’d stick with it even though it was on Christmas Eve.
“Gee, I’m glad I did.
“It’s taking a while to sink in, but it’s going to change my life.
“I’ll look at buying a new car, I’ll help my family, and I’ll plan for the future.
“Any time is good to win the lottery, but to do it over Christmas is amazing.
“What a way to end the year!”
The Melbourne man’s winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Gasworks News, Tenancy E5-E Gasworks Building E, 76 Skyring Terrace, Newstead.
The team at Gasworks News said they were over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry and wished their winner all the best for 2023.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4323 on 24 December 2022 were 4, 32, 8, 39, 7 and 24, while the supplementary numbers were 34 and 17.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4323 – two each from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria and one from Western Australia.
