A South Melbourne man, a 10-person Victorian syndicate and a mystery Mornington player have started the new year on a high, with each taking home a $1.6 million prize in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Victorians held three of the 18 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4639 on Saturday 3 January 2026. Each division one winning entry scored $1,666,666.67.
South Melbourne man initially mistakes $1.6 million TattsLotto win for $16
A South Melbourne man has confessed his brain initially couldn’t comprehend the enormity of this $1.6 million TattsLotto win on the weekend.
“This is just awesome!” the man exclaimed when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I usually check my weekly TattsLotto ticket around 10pm on a Saturday night. But this time, I was thinking to myself, ‘Well, I haven’t had a call yet, so I guess I didn’t win division one’.
“So I opened up my ticket and looked at it. Holy sh**!
“At first I thought I’d won $16, but then I noticed a few more digits and commas.
“I couldn’t sleep after that. I just kept wondering if it was real.
“I picked these numbers a long time ago and I’ve just kept playing them. The number 13 is my lucky number and then I picked mostly birthdays of the family.
“I called my mum and sister on Saturday night. They thought I was playing a prank on them, but I wouldn’t joke about something like this.
“I’ve always had a thing where I thought if I ever won TattsLotto, I’d buy my sister and mum a new car.
“The rest I’ll use to pay off a few debts and set myself up.”
The man’s winning marked 20-game entry via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
Ten Victorian players share $1.6 million TattsLotto prize
Ten Victorians are striding into the week sharing a $1.6 million prize from the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The players were part of a 10-share group syndicate, called Epic Win 88, set up by Prahran Market Lotto, Tobacco & News, Shop 817, 183 Commercial Road, Prahran.
Shares into the syndicate were also sold at:
- Colac Lotto
- Collingwood Lotto, Tobacco & News
- Greensborough Plaza Newsagency
- Lilydale Village Lotto & News
- Tullamarine Authorised Newsagency.
In addition to winning division one, the syndicate’s winning System 11 QuickPick entry also won division three 30 times, division four 150 times and division six 200 times, bolstering the group’s total win to $1,694,613.67.
Each member of the winning syndicate scored a prize worth $169,461.37.
While some of the winning syndicate members held registered entries and have been notified of their win, The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said some of the winning group might still be unaware of their good fortune.
“If you purchased a share in a syndicate entry into the recent TattsLotto draw, today’s the day to check it!” he said.
Check your tickets, Mornington! Mystery millionaire at large
Lottery officials are urging Mornington residents and visitors to check their TattsLotto tickets after a mystery player scored $1.6 million in the weekend’s draw.
If the winner had been part of The Lott Members Club and registered their ticket to a player card or online account, they would have already been alerted to their good fortune.
Instead, officials from The Lott are eagerly waiting for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward.
The winning entry was purchased at Mornington Authorised Newsagency, 97 Main Street, Mornington.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the mystery millionaire was probably starting the week completely unaware they’d scored an incredible $1.6 million in the weekend’s draw.
“Although we haven’t been able to confirm the life-changing news with Victoria’s newest millionaire, we’re confident that when they check their ticket and realise what’s happened, they’ll be absolutely thrilled,” he said.
“We’re urging anyone who bought a TattsLotto ticket from Mornington Authorised Newsagency to check their ticket straight away.
“Just imagine the excitement of discovering you’re the mystery winner we’ve been looking for. Someone’s plans for 2026 and beyond could change in an instant.
“Be sure to check your tickets, and if you find you’re holding the winning entry, contact The Lott on 131 868 to start the prize claim process.
“This is also a great reminder for all players to register their tickets to a player card or online account with The Lott Members Club. That way, if you win a major prize, we can call you immediately!”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4639 on 3 January 2026 were 19, 36, 21, 10, 9 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 39 and 2.
