A Doncaster East woman’s weekly tradition of buying a lottery ticket has led to a $1 million Monday Lotto win – which she plans to have lots of fun with.
The Victorian winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4084, drawn Monday 7 June 2021. She takes home a division one prize worth $1 million.
Speaking with an official from The Lott, the Melbourne woman shared she was still reeling from the surprising discovery.
“Oh, it’s so amazing!” the winning woman admitted.
“Each week, I buy a lottery ticket – it’s my little treat. Then, in the morning, I check the winning numbers in the paper.
“I’ve never won anything much before, but this time, it was very different!
“So I called my daughter and made her rush over to check the numbers because I couldn’t believe it.
“I can’t tell you what I said, you might think it’s rude, but there was lots of swearing and shouting!
“We were just so shocked.
“But now the news has sunk in, so I am actually feeling very calm. But deep down, I am still so excited!
“I called my family and they’re all coming over tonight for a nice dinner and some champagne to celebrate.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the overjoyed winner said she needed some time to let the news sink in before she made any concrete plans.
“I won’t be throwing it down the gutter, that’s for sure!” she laughed.
“It’s all a bit staggering at the moment, but I am going to have a lot of fun as a millionaire.
“It’s sure to be a great year!”
The winning entry was sold at East Doncaster Lotto, 286A Blackburn Road, Doncaster East.
East Doncaster Lotto owner Lisa Xu said she was ecstatic for her division one winner.
“What fabulous news!” she declared.
“How exciting for the winner! We couldn’t be happier to have made one of our customers an overnight millionaire.
“We can’t wait to make more of our customers division one winners.”
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4084 on Monday 7 June 2021 were 10, 21, 12, 41, 24 and 44, while the supplementary numbers were 13 and 18.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4084 – one from Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 195 so far this year, including 74 won by Tatts customers.
In 2020, Monday & Wednesday Lotto created 93 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 101 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won $100 million.
