A West Wyalong man has shocked his wife by yelling, ‘we’ve won the lottery’, after checking his Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot entry and discovering he’d bagged $100,000.

The Riverina resident won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10571, drawn Monday 16 May 2022.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the winning man confessed he’d held off checking his entry, convinced he would never win the big one.

“We were watching the local news and saw that there’d been a mystery winner in West Wyalong, but I didn’t check my ticket because I didn’t believe it could be me!” he laughed.

“It’s an absolutely wonderful feeling.

“Once I’d discovered the win, I went home to tell my wife, but she was on the phone, so I did the right thing and waited patiently.

“As soon as she was free, I yelled, ‘we’ve won the lottery’, and she stopped in her tracks and asked if I was joking!

“I’m still struggling to process it, but the money will go a long way to paying off some debt, which is going to be a huge help.

“We’ll spend it wisely, I assure you.”

The winning entry was purchased at West Wyalong Newsagency, 159 Main Street, West Wyalong.

West Wyalong Newsagency co-owners Joanne and Len Lynch said they were thrilled to sell a major prize-winning entry and hoped the winner had celebrated accordingly.

“It’s an amazing win, isn’t it? We’re just so happy for the winner and hope he’s still on cloud nine,” Joanne said.

“We love selling major-prize winning entries and just want to wish the winner all the best in the future.”
