A generous Bayview man plans to share most of his $200,000 Lucky Lotteries windfall with his family and various charities close to his heart, only keeping a ‘few dollars’ for himself.
The Sydney player won the 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1573, drawn Wednesday 25 May 2022.
Speaking with an official from The Lott today, the winning man confessed he was still struggling to fathom the fact he’d won.
“I’m feeling quite shocked if I’m honest with you,” he said.
“I thought I was seeing things or that it was a joke when I checked the results and realised I’d won $200,000.
“I’ll keep a little bit for myself but I’ll share the majority of the winnings with my family who have mortgages.
“This money will do wonderful things for my family.
“I’ll have to donate a little bit to a few charities too. It’s the right thing to do, isn’t it?
“It’s an incredible day to be me and I just can’t believe it.”
The Bayview man’s winning entry of one random number was purchased at Nextra Newsagency Mona Vale, Shop 11, Pittwater Place Shopping Centre, 10 Park Street, Mona Vale.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $10.37 million for draw 1574, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $13.79 million for draw 10577.
In 2021, 127 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $32.95 million.
During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by a Coolangatta man who a Mega Jackpot prize of $9.41 million in May.
