When a Port Stephens man heard that someone from his town had won $100,000, he thought ‘oh that lucky person’, but today discovered he was the elusive winner lottery officials had been searching for.

The Hunter Region player won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10421, drawn Tuesday 27 October 2020.

This morning, an official from The Lott spoke to the man, who was still reeling from the discovery.

“I am very good, thank you!” he laughed.

“I went to the newsagency to buy the newspaper, and I heard a lady there saying someone had won $100,000.

“I thought ‘oh that lucky person!’.

“But then she said that the prize hadn’t been claimed yet and I knew I had some tickets to check.

“So I got the newsagent to check mine and sure enough, I was the winner.

“I was stunned, completely blown away!

“I was blindsided. I thought ‘what the hell?’.

“Even though I am talking to you now, I still can’t believe it.

“What a good win!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the winner held no hesitation.

“I would really like to go on a few holidays,” he said.

“Once the boarders open up, I am sure we will be doing lots of travelling!

“I will share some with my family as well.

“There’s a few little toys I’d like to get myself too.”

The winning entry of 1-random number was purchased at Tanilba Bay Newsagency, Shop 17 Kooindah Centre, 61 President Wilson Walk, Tanilba Bay.

Tanilba Bay Newsagency employee Michelle Sheather said the outlet couldn’t be happier for their winner.

“Isn’t it fantastic!” she said.

“We are so excited! It’s such an awesome prize for our winner.

“We were so pleased when we found out, and we are even more thrilled that he’s a local.

“We have been waiting for another major prize win! We usually sell one every two years.

“Hopefully this is the start of a streak and we sell more major prize wins. We’ve certainly had quite a bit of luck with Lucky Lotteries, and now that trend has continued, which is awesome.

“We’d love to send our congratulations to our winner! We really hope you enjoy your prize and it’s turned your 2020 around in the best way possible.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $2.44 million for draw 1505 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.15 million for draw 10422.
