A Dubbo Saturday Lotto player became a newly-minted multi-millionaire on the weekend just in time for Christmas after winning division one – but they may not know it yet.

The mystery player held one of the two division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4217, drawn Saturday 18 December 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $2,942,875.50.

The winning entry is unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news. Instead, they’re waiting for the ticketholder to come forward to claim their prize.

The life-changing ticket was purchased at News at the Mall, T35 Orana Mall Marketplace, Mitchell Highway, Dubbo.

News at the Mall owner Greg Stevenson said news of the unclaimed Lotto win was spreading quickly around the city.

“What a great surprise to discover that one of our customers has just won a Saturday Lotto prize worth over $2.9 million! And what a time to do it, with only a week until Christmas,” he exclaimed.

“Some staff members who weren't even working came in because of the excitement, thinking they may have sold the winning ticket.

“Our regulars started coming in wanting to check if their ticket was the big winner. They’re so happy for whoever the winner is.

“We’ve sold 11 major prizes in seven years. This includes a $1 million Wednesday Lotto prize in August 2019 and a $1,428,571 Saturday Lotto win for Mother’s Day in 2018.”

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he was eager to unite the region’s newest division one winner with their prize.

“With just days until Christmas, what a time to discover you’ve landed a life-changing lottery prize,” he said.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket in Dubbo to check their tickets today.

“Make sure you search for any tickets in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glovebox, because you could be the winner we are searching for.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4217 on 18 December 2021 were 1, 44, 36, 29, 25 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 21 and 35.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4217 – both from New South Wales.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 215 so far this financial year, including 74 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, Saturday Lotto created 174 millionaires across Australia.

During this time, there were 341 division one winning in Saturday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $435.21 million.
