More than 36 hours after the winning numbers were drawn, officials from The Lott are yet to hear the winning shrieks of delight from Thursday’s two mystery Powerball division one winners, who each scored $40 million.

There were only two division one winning entries nationally in Powerball draw 1357, drawn Thursday 19 May 2022 – one from New South Wales and another from Victoria. Each division one winning entry takes home $40 million.

Both of the multi-million-dollar winning entries were not registered to a player card, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winners. Instead, they’re waiting for the ticketholders to check their tickets and make contact.

The New South Wales winning entry was purchased at Saigon Bookshop & Lottery, Shop 6 Cabramatta Mall, 47 Park Road, Cabramatta.

The Victorian winning entry was purchased at Sunshine Marketplace Lotto, Kiosk 1 Sunshine Marketplace, 80 Harvester Road, Sunshine.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said it was remarkable to think two Aussies could be walking around oblivious they were now multi-millionaires.

“Our winners could be going about their weekend without knowing their winning entries are tucked in their purse, wallet or stuck on their fridge door!” he exclaimed.

“There are 40 million reasons why Cabramatta and Sunshine lottery players should check their tickets today.

“Imagine discovering you’re suddenly a multi-millionaire! There is no doubt your plans for the weekend would change! Instead of mowing the lawn, doing the groceries or running errands, you could be celebrating with your friends and family.

“All you need to do is visit TheLott.com, scan your ticket on The Lott app or visit one of our friendly outlets to find out if you are our division one winner.

“The next step is to give us a call on 131 868 if you think you are holding one of those division one winning entries.

“We are in the business of paying prizes and we can’t wait to unite these winners with their windfalls, so we urge all players to check their tickets!

“In New South Wales, players have six years to claim their prizes. However, in Victoria, players have six months to claim the prizes directly from us, after which time they can claim them from the Victorian State Revenue Office.

“So while there’s still plenty of time to claim these prizes, the clock is ticking!”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1357 on Thursday 19 May 2022 were 15, 34, 5, 11, 28, 8, 27. The all-important Powerball number was 3.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Powerball draw 1357 – one each in New South Wales and Queensland.
