The eight members of a private work syndicate have a million reasons to smile this morning after their syndicate scored division one in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

The private syndicate held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3885, drawn Wednesday 10 July 2019. Each entry took home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

A NSW Lotteries official spoke to the syndicate leader this morning just as she’d arrived to work. She admitted she never expected such a good phone call.

“Oh my godfather,” she laughed.

“Oh good lord! Oh my, oh my, oh my.

“Woah! I’m a bit overwhelmed, as you can probably tell.

“I didn’t think this was a call I’d be answering this morning.”

The Cronulla woman shared the entry was held by a private syndicate.

“I’m in a work syndicate. There’s eight of us in this syndicate,” she explained.

“Oh it is so exciting for us! I can’t wait to tell the ladies, they will be beside themselves.

“We’ve had this syndicate running for probably three or four years. We buy an entry every fortnight. It’s miles more than what we ever thought we’d win.

“It’s really going to make everyone’s day.

“I’m just thinking about how I am going to tell them all. This is just lovely.”

When asked how they planned to use their prize, the winner admitted the prize would be put to good use.

“I think there will be lots of holidays and paying off home loans and things like that,” she shared.

“We will all need to sit down and have a think about it.

“We will celebrate together sometime soon. We will probably go out for a lovely dinner and have some drinks.

“It will give us an opportunity to talk about how we’d each like to spend our prize. It’s very exciting!”

The winners, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their QuickPick entry at Cronulla Paper Shop, 109 Cronulla Street, Cronulla.

Cronulla Paper Shop owner Jacki O’Donnell said she was thrilled to have sold a division one winning entry in last night’s draw.

“Isn’t it exciting news?” she said.

“We are celebrating in store and sharing the news with all of our customers.

“We are thrilled for our winners and wish them all the best with their prize.

“Hopefully we sell some more division one winning entries soon.”
