Sorell man surprises wife with $409,000 TattsLotto win

When a Sorell man screamed for his wife to come upstairs yesterday, she thought he was delivering some bad news. Instead, she was happily surprised by a $409,000 TattsLotto division one win.

“It’s great! I found out yesterday when I checked my ticket on The Lott app,” the winning man laughed when he spoke to an official from The Lott this morning.

“I was in complete disbelief when I saw it. My wife was downstairs, so I screamed for her to come up.

“She thought there was something wrong, but I said it was the opposite and showed her the phone.

“We were over the moon, and we had a lovely dinner to celebrate.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his division one win, the elated man said he wanted to be sensible with his prize.

“I am going to share some with my family, and the rest I am going to put away for a rainy day,” he declared.

His winning entry was purchased at Sorell Lucky Agency, 31 Gordon Street, Sorell.

Sorell Lucky Agency manager Debbie O’Shea said the team was celebrating selling a division one winning entry.

“There was a feeling of excitement and elation within our team just knowing that one of our customers had won a major prize,” she said.

“Our customers will be so happy to know we have sold a division one winning entry.

“It’s just wonderful news.”

Sandford woman patiently waits to receive $409,000 TattsLotto winning phone call

A Sanford woman has admitted she’s been waiting by the phone for an official from The Lott to confirm her division one win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

“I am a bit excited! I have been waiting for your call,” she shared.

“I found out on Saturday night after the draw.

“I just kept thinking, ‘Wow! Yes. No. is it true?’. There were so many thoughts running through my head.

“After it started to sink in, I was actually quite calm. I knew I’d won because the numbers I use are birthdays and other special numbers like that.

“When I showed my husband, he did not believe it. He kept saying, ‘No way! It can’t be right’. He still doesn’t believe it.

“I can’t wait to tell him I’ve had the winning call now!

“We celebrated with some beers that night , even though he thought I was wrong.

“It’s such a lovely amount to win.”

The cheerful winner already knew exactly what she was going to do with her prize.

“We are going to get a new car to tow our caravan and go on a few trips around Australia,” she explained.

“We will have a bit of a party with our family too!”
