A Wollongong man says he broke out in a cold sweat the moment he heard he was suddenly a millionaire thanks to last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The New South Wales player held one of the four division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4082, drawn Monday 31 May 2021. Each division one winner takes home a prize of $1 million.
Confirming his lottery fortune with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the regular player said he’d just made the shock discovery.
“Thank you!” he laughed.
“That’s a lot! Let me write that down.
“Oh man. What a morning I’ve had!
“I was out and about all morning and I went and put my Lotto on for the rest of the week.
“That’s when I checked my ticket and the lady at the newsagency told me the prize was too big for them to pay out, so I thought I’d better call in!
“My wife won’t believe me.
“They are all marked numbers that I’ve been playing for ages, birthdays, special dates, that kind of thing. I can’t believe they’ve finally been drawn.
“I’m in a cold sweat! This is hard to fathom.
“It is unbelievable!”
With his division one prize about to hit his bank account, the Wollongong man said it was time to start thinking about retirement.
“I do love my job but this will help me retire sooner than I had dreamt,” he explained.
“Might stick it out for a couple of months and then hand in my resignation.
“I’m in the process of doing renovations at home but I might just knock down the house and build a new one!”
The life-changing marked System-7 entry was purchased at Fairy Meadow Newsagency, 35 Princes Highway, Fairy Meadow.
Fairy Meadow Newsagency team member Kellie Chin said she was over the moon for their latest division one winner.
“I was so excited to hear we had sold this winning ticket,” she said.
“We couldn’t be happier for the man who has won this prize.
“It couldn’t have gone to a better person. Congratulations to him!”
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4082 on Monday 31 May 2021 were 31, 29, 6, 19, 11 and 15, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 4.
