A Wollongong retiree has his heart set on a road trip around the country in a shiny new caravan after this morning learning he won $7.5 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

The New South Wales player held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1396, drawn Tuesday 17 November 2020. He takes home a division one prize of $7,500,000.

Sharing his shock with an official from The Lott this morning, the man explained he’d just checked his ticket online.

“Thank you,” he laughed.

“That’s awesome!

“You always think ‘I’d love to win the lottery’ and now I have and it’s a great feeling.

“I’ve won small prizes over the years but to win a big one is incredible and I’m glad I’ve been able to share it with three others.

“I checked my ticket this morning, I was sitting down at home and I saw I had a win. I didn’t pay too much attention because I assumed it would be a small one but when I saw $7.5 million, I couldn’t believe it.

“Lucky I was sitting down or else I would have fallen over!

“I was in disbelief. Things like this just don’t happen to me!

“It’s unreal. It’s such a shock.”

When asked what life looked like as a multi-millionaire, the generous dad said the first thing he’d be doing is looking after his family.

“The biggest and best thing is that I will be able to help my kids out,” he said.

“That will be huge for them and for me.

“I’m sure there will be a couple of holidays here and there and maybe a new car.

“I would love to travel around Australia. I could even update my caravan for the trip!”

The life-changing entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1396 on Tuesday 17 November 2020 were 2, 10, 25, 27, 31, 33, and 39. The supplementary numbers were 20 and 37.

Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Oz Lotto draw 1396 – two from Victoria, one from New South Wales and one from Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 159 so far this financial year, including 40 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, 15 division one winning Oz Lotto entries across Australia collectively won $212.14 million.

During this time, the biggest Oz Lotto jackpot was $50 million on 15 October 2019, which was won by a Leumeah tradie who walked off the job and vowed never to work again.

Of the 15 Oz Lotto division one winning entries in FY20, eight landed in New South Wales, three in Victoria, two in South Australia, and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.
