A Cairns nurse is rejoicing this morning after receiving an unexpected phone call with the news she scored division one in last night’s Wednesday Gold Lotto draw.
The Far North Queensland resident held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3977, drawn Wednesday 27 May 2020. They each take home a division one prize of $800,000.
This morning an official from the Lott contacted the woman, who had no idea she’d woken up a division one winner.
“Oh my god!” she cried with happiness.
“Wow. Wow. Wow!
“I wasn’t expecting that. Really? Are you sure? Wow.
“Oh my gosh. This is just wonderful.
“Thank you. I had no idea, no idea at all.
“Oh my god. That’s awesome. I’ve been playing for a few years now.
“I’m very happy but very shocked. I never expected to have such a big win!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her life-changing prize, the hardworking healthcare worker said it would set her up for the rest of her life.
“Oh my god. I don’t know,” she laughed.
“I will possibly give some to my family and donate some to charity.
“I certainly want to buy a house. The idea of being able to buy a house and not have a mortgage is just fabulous!
“This is incredible!”
The thrilled woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at newsXpress Cairns Central, Cairns Central, Level 1, 21 McLeod Street, Cairns.
