A Mount Barker woman’s frantic calls, which initially alarmed her husband, quickly turned from panic to pure joy when she surprised him with the thrilling news that they’d won $1 million in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw.
The successful South Australians held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4573, drawn Wednesday 16 July 2025 and pocketed a cool $1 million.
When an official from The Lott called the happy duo, they said they were still trying to digest the exciting news.
“Thank you, darling! Thank you!” the winning wife said.
“I think I’ve checked my ticket about 100 times now. We’re still trying to process it all.
“I was by myself when I checked and had no idea what to do with myself.
“I was trying to ring my husband, but he wasn’t answering. Finally, he called me back and I said, ‘You better get home now!’.
“I wouldn’t tell him what it was about, and he thought something was wrong.
“When he got home and I told him, he was even more excited than I was! He was completely over the moon.
“I’ve been pretty calm. I’m just going about business as usual.
“I haven’t played Weekday Windfall all that often. I usually play Powerball or Saturday X Lotto, but thought ‘Why not?’.
“I chose my 36-game ticket because 36 is my lucky number.
“It’s great. We’ll be able to pay off the mortgage and invest the rest.”
Her 36-game QuickPick entry was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4573 on Wednesday 16 July 2025 were 26, 34, 36, 35, 29 and 3, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 5.
