A young Cairns man has had his work day happily interrupted by the revelation he’s now $200,000 richer from winning the latest Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The man in his 30s was the 1st Prize winner in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1111, drawn on Wednesday 18 July 2018.
When a Golden Casket official contacted the winner this morning to confirm the win, he was hard at work and oblivious to his good fortune.
“Wow! Oh thank you!” he exclaimed when his win was confirmed.
“That’s exciting news. I’m so happy.
“I’m just at work. This makes the rest of the working week more bearable.”
While tempted to leave work to celebrate immediately, the man said wait until this evening to revel in his win.
“I will go out for dinner and get a steak!” he declared.
Speaking in a hushed voice so as not to alert his work colleagues to his win, the Far North Queenslander shared he planned to use his windfall to pay off his mortgage.
“That will be a big relief,” he said.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of two random numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
