Despite discovering this morning sheâd become an overnight multi-millionaire thanks to last nightâs Oz Lotto draw, a young Sarina woman is still planning to head to work today.
The North Queenslander held the only division one winning entry nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1461, drawn Tuesday 15 February 2022. She scored $10 million.
âI havenât had a chance to look at my ticket yet. Iâve just been getting ready for work,â she explained when speaking with an official from The Lott.
âOh my god! Holy sh**! Thatâs amazing. Weâre multi-millionaires!
âMy partnerâs sitting beside me, and heâs heard what youâve said too. Heâs gobsmacked!
âThis is a life-changing win for us. Itâs come at the best time! Weâve had a tough few months, so this will help us so much.
âYou dream of things like this happening, but you never imagine it actually happening.
âI always read stories about your winners and think about that happening to me and what Iâd do with the prize and now it has happened to me, and itâs so strange! What the hell!
âUnfortunately, we have to go to work today. We donât want to let our teams down, so I donât think weâll be able to call in sick, but we might do something nice tonight to celebrate.â
The generous winner admitted she couldnât wait to use her prize to help speed up her parentsâ retirement plans.
âThis really means everything for us. It means we can get our dream home, and I can help my parents retire, which is a dream come true!â she shared.
âItâll help us live an amazing life. Iâm not sure what weâll do with the rest. We never expected to be multi-millionaires!â
Her life-changing entry was purchased at Freechoice Sarina, Shop 6, Sarina Village Shopping Centre, 20 Broad Street, Sarina.
Freechoice Sarina owner Miranda Roberts said she was over the moon to hear a division one win went to a local customer.
âHow exciting is that!â she said.
âThis is our second division one win in less than one year. We sold a division one winning ticket in Saturday Gold Lotto in August last year, and now weâve had this win.
âWeâre on a bit of a winning streak, so we hope to keep making more of our customers division one winners.
âWe can just imagine the prize would be life-changing for our customer! What a way to make 2022 the best year yet!.â
The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1461 on Tuesday 15 February 2022 were 37, 41, 9, 28, 5, 7 and 16, while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 35.
