A Broken Hill man has received the ultimate early birthday present when a call from lottery officials revealed he’d won $200,000 in yesterday’s Lucky Lotteries draw.
The New South Wales resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1738, drawn Monday 1 December 2025. He looks forward to $200,000.
Incredibly, the winning man admitted he had a powerful feeling that a ‘life-changing surprise’ was about to enter his life in the days leading up to his win.
“Two hundred thousand dollars? Oh boy!” the winning man questioned when an official from The Lott called to confirm the winning news.
“That’s so fantastic!
“I’m going to sound crazy, but I actually had a premonition while I was at church the other day. I just had a strong feeling that a life-changing surprise was coming my way.
“Honestly, I could feel it was coming.”
The stunned man couldn’t help but erupt into screams of joy when an official from The Lott revealed his prize payment date.
“You’re joking me, that’s my birthday!” he exclaimed.
“This is great for me, just in time for Christmas.”
With a $200,000 birthday payday heading his way, the cheery man wasted no time dreaming of all the things he’d like to do with his prize.
“There’s so many things I could do,” he said.
“I could do with a new car, and I’ve been looking at houses, so who knows!”
His winning entry of two random numbers was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $17.68 million for draw 1739, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.80 million for draw 11050.
In FY25, 182 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot Prize winning entries across Australia won more than $20.5 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
