A Cannon Hill man is happily spending the rest of the week deciding how to enjoy a spare $150,000 after scratching the top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The top prize winning $10 ticket was sold at Cannon News, Shop 5, Kmart Plaza, Cnr Wynnum Road and Creek Road, Cannon Hill.

Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott this morning, the Brisbane resident revealed he was still in a state of shock.

“I had to check it about 100 times!” he laughed.

“I couldn’t believe it.

“I buy scratchies fairly often, and I thought I would give this one a go.

“And I am so glad I did!

“You always hope these things will happen, but when it does, it’s hard to believe!”

With $150,000 about to hit his bank account, the Queensland winner admitted he was still deciding how to enjoy all his prize, but one thing was certain.

“I am buying myself a new car,” he declared.

“Mine is almost 40 years old, so it is certainly overdue!

“Then the rest, I will just have to wait and see.”

In 2020, there were 177 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $16 million in top prizes.

During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 32.3 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $281.17 million. This equates to more than three-quarters of a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
