Five factory workers from Laverton North kick-started their week on a high after discovering their 25-year-old private syndicate scored division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The hardworking bunch held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3973, drawn Saturday 17 August 2019. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $989,632.50.

As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the syndicate’s System 8 entry also scored them division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering their total prize to $1,003,488.30.

Sharing his excitement with a Tatts official this morning, the syndicate leader revealed the syndicate had been running since the early 1990s.

“A few of us have been working together and running this syndicate since 1994!” he declared.

“We’ve been playing the same numbers since we chose them a few years ago.

“Over the years we’ve seen some people come and go in the syndicate but a few of us have been in it ever since the beginning.

“We are just so happy we’ve finally won something big!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his share of the windfall, the syndicate leader declared he couldn’t decide what to do.

“I haven’t had a chance to think about it just yet!” he laughed.

“I can’t decide. It will certainly help my retirement plans!”

The syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the syndicate’s winning entry at Brimbank Central Lotto, Kiosk K16 Brimbank Central, Cnr Neale Road & Station Road, Deer Park.

Brimbank Central Lotto owner Yomikumar Shah said he was thrilled his outlet had sold a division one winning entry so soon after he took ownership.

“We took over this business only ninety days ago so we are thrilled that we’ve sold a division one winning entry so quickly!” he exclaimed.

“We had been telling all of our customers we hoped to bring in some luck and now we have!

“We’re hoping our luck continues for our customers and more of them win a large prize soon!

“A huge congratulations to our winners! We are so happy to have helped change their lives.
