A Shell Cove man was left in seventh heaven after scoring a sensational $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries, and he’s thanking the date of his win for being his good omen.

The New South Wales resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11023, drawn Monday 7 July 2025 and bagged a clean $100,000.

When an official from The Lott called, the gleeful retiree confessed he was swept off his feet with excitement.

“One hundred thousand dollars?! That’s fantastic!” he cheered.

“Today is my lucky day. I was just saying to my wife it’s the seventh of the seventh and then you called. Perhaps it was some sort of omen. I think seven might be my new favourite number.

“This has taken my breath away. I need to take a seat.

“This is going to help a great deal. We’ve dreamt of winning this for years.

“We’ve been thinking of moving house, and this could be the boost we needed.

“I think tonight we’ll go out for dinner and get the top-of-the-line menu instead of the pensioners.

“I’m blown away. You’ve made my day. You’ve made my week!”

His winning entry of 10 random numbers was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $6.76 million for draw 1706, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $23.9 million for draw 11024.

In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2024, more than 195.3 million winners took home more than $4.84 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.8 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.  As part of its commitment to supporting the community, The Lott proudly supports Play For Purpose, the not-for-profit charity raffle that gives Australians the chance to win while helping more than 500 causes across the country.
