An Aspley shopper picked up more than just a newspaper after the $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket they also picked up, scored them one of the top prizes of $100,000.
The winning $5 Crosswords ticket was purchased at Bridgeman Newsagency, Shop 51, 11, 45 & 52 Aspley Hypermarket, 59 Albany Creek Road, Aspley.
However, how the winner plans to spend their $100,000 instant windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
Bridgeman Newsagency owner Gloria Forst said she was thrilled one of her regular customers scored such a wonderful top prize.
“We are so thrilled another one of our customers has scored a major prize!” she exclaimed.
“We’ve sold a few Instant Scratch-Its top prizes over the 30 years we’ve been here with the last one sold just last year when another customer scored $10,000 on a $1 scratchie.
“We’ll be telling all of our customers we’ve had another winner as it inspires them all to dream about what they could do if they win a prize!”
Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said the Aspley winner was just one of many Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners from Queensland in recent months.
“This Aspley winner is the second Brisbanite to score $100,000 on a $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket so far this year!” she exclaimed.
