A sleepy Berwick man has woken up to the news he is over $666,000 richer from scoring division one in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The happy man held one of six division one wins nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3914, drawn Monday 21 October 2019. The division one prize in last night’s draw was $666,666.67.
When speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm the win, the shocked winner couldn’t help but confess his initial scepticism.
“I woke up to a few missed calls and an email telling me to check my ticket,” he explained.
“I had no idea what was going on as I thought it must be spam or some other bulls**t.
“I checked my account and saw that I had won and all I could think of was ‘what the hell!’.
“I texted my partner and said ‘call me, it’s urgent’ but then I had to follow up with a ‘good urgent’. I didn’t want her to call me in a panic!”
With the news slowly sinking in, the winner explained he played the same numbers every week.
“I’ve been playing that QuickPick entry for years,” he explained.
“Its only a small four-game entry, so I’ve got it on a subscription for every week, so I know I’ll always have my numbers in.
“I never expected I’d win division one!”
When asked how he planned to celebrate the windfall, the thrilled winner confessed he was hoping to upgrade a future holiday.
“We already have a little getaway planned in the next couple of weeks, so I think we’ll be celebrating then,” he explained.
“This windfall takes the pressure off us for sure. It’s been a tough few weeks I’ve got to say so this has come at a really good time.
“We’ll be able to go away on our break and splurge a bit. Maybe upgrade the room or have a few more nice dinners.
“We really need it after a rough few weeks.”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 4-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3914 on Monday 21 October 2019 were 9, 2, 19, 17, 36 and 22, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 8.
