Caloundra’s latest Gold Lotto division one winner has wasted no time kicking off his retirement, revealing he’s already handed in his resignation letter less than 24 hours after discovering his life-changing windfall.
The Sunshine Coast resident held one of the eight division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4171, drawn Saturday 10 July 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $756,133.42.
Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this morning, the happy Queenslander explained he made the discovery over the weekend.
“I didn’t sleep much last night,” he laughed.
“I checked the ticket yesterday afternoon. I couldn’t believe it.
“I checked it over and over again. So many things were running through my mind.
“It was a dream come true! I have been waiting for this day for so long and now it is finally here.”
The Caloundra man explained he’d been awake all night thinking about what he’d do first with his prize.
“The timing couldn’t be more perfect,” he explained.
“I’ve already handed in my notice to retire this morning.
“It feels absolutely fantastic. It didn’t wake me long to decide that was what I was going to do first.
“And I’m going to buy some land and build a new house.
“It will be fantastic!”
The life-changing entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4171 on 10 July 2021 were 23, 22, 30, 28, 38 and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 16 and 20.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4171 – three from Victoria, two each from New South Wales and Queensland, and one online.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 236 so far this calendar year, including 61 won by Golden Casket customers.
