A Canberra man has had a sleepless night dreaming of one million ways he’d enjoy his $1 million Monday & Wednesday Lotto windfall.
The ACT retiree held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3854, drawn Monday 25 March 2019, taking home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
When a NSW Lotteries official made contact with him this morning, the winner confessed he had been expecting the life-changing phone call.
“I think I know why you’re ringing me,” he laughed.
“I’m a bit shocked actually.
“I checked my entry online last night and when I looked at the winning numbers I recognised them straight away.
“I saw that I had won division one and I was in shock, total shock. I still am!
“I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing!
“I didn’t sleep all night!”
Despite having a sleepless night thinking about how he’d spend his prize, the winner revealed he was still too shocked to grasp the enormity of his win.
“I’ve never won anything like this before,” he said.
“I’ve still got a bit of a mortgage so I will pay that off and a little bit more.
“But I will have to think about what to do with the rest of it.
“I just don’t know at this stage, I’ve never been in this situation!”
His winning marked System 7 entry was purchased at Erindale Newsagency, Shop 12, Erindale Shopping Centre, 68 Comrie Street, Wanniassa.
Erindale Newsagency manager Ben Sankey said they had been anticipating a big win in store.
“We were only recently discussing with our customers that we must be due for a big win soon!” he exclaimed.
“We’ve sold 12 division one winning entries at our outlet over the years and we’re always so grateful to be involved in bringing the joy of selling a division one prize.
“We love selling the dream to our customers!

In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3854 on Monday 25 March 2019 were 37, 28, 4, 23, 42, and 13 while the supplementary numbers were 12 and 19.
Across Australia there was three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3854, one in ACT and two in Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 271 so far this financial year, including 76 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 69 division one winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won $62 million.
