From dental work to divorce, Australians are already planning how they’d spend $70 million should they take home the division one jackpot in tonight’s Oz Lotto draw.

After seven weeks of jackpotting and for the first time this year, Oz Lotto has cracked $70 million.

Up to one-in-four Australian adults are expected to have an entry in tonight’s draw, with many dreaming of the first thing they’d do if they pocketed the prize.

A survey conducted by the Lott ahead of tonight’s draw revealed Aussies were already making plans.

About one-in-two Aussies (45%) were committed to immediately waving goodbye to work if they received the phone call tonight telling them they had won division one.

Only 18% declared their love for their job would keep them working, even with $70 million in their bank account.

The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said Aussies’ hopes, dreams and humour shone through when they were asked the first fair dinkum dream they would fulfil if they won the $70 million Oz Lotto prize.

“It turns out Aussies are a bunch of dreamers who know exactly how they’d use a multi-million dollar windfall. Though some dreams are a lot easier to relate to than others,” she said.

“Plenty of people said the first thing they would do was pay off their mortgage and the mortgages of their closest family and friends, before then setting their children up for their future.

“Many also have their eyes on a first-class overseas adventure and giving generously to charities should they score a division one win.

“Surprisingly, for those wanting to wear winning smiles after claiming their $70 million prize, a trip to the dentist was high on many people’s lists!

“While many couples plan holidays of a lifetime together, one person joked they’d get a divorce if they won the life-changing jackpot!

“Australians’ love of travel is no secret, so perhaps it’s not surprising lots of people plan to buy the best motorhome on the market and hit the road should they win.

“The nation’s love of sport was also on show, with one die-hard AFL fan telling us they’d never miss a St Kilda game.”

Ms Cooney said she would be standing by to call any registered division one winner after tonight’s draw.

“Needless to say, you do need an entry if you want a chance to see this $70 million prize in your bank account,” she said.

“I also recommend registering that entry to a player’s card so we can alert you to your win immediately.”

In 2018, there were 20 division one winning Oz Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $253.7 million.

Oz Lotto draw 1310 closes at 7:30pm AEST on Tuesday 26 March 2019.

Tickets are available at any licensed lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via the Lott mobile app.

The Lott’s division one winning tally across all Australian lottery games has now reached 268 so far this financial year.

The sign of Australia’s Official Lotteries, the Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, 74 million winners took home a total of $2.7 billion in prize money from their favourite games which include Saturday Lotto, Monday and Wednesday Lotto, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno and Instant Scratch-Its.
