A Carrara woman says she received the best surprise of her life when she checked her Saturday Gold Lotto ticket to discover she was taking home a life-changing division one prize.
The Gold Coast resident held one of the eight division one winning entries across the country in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4085 on Saturday 12 September 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $621,499.92.
Confirming her win with an official from the Lott this morning, the winner explained she was still coming to terms with the news.
“Thank you!” she laughed.
“It’s pretty amazing, huh?
“It’s very welcomed, there’s no doubt about that.
“It was such a shock but the best surprise I’ve had all my life!
“I was at home yesterday when I decided to jump online and check my ticket.
“I was in pure disbelief. It was such an unusual feeling. I really couldn’t believe it.
“It still hasn’t sunk in!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the Gold Coast player said she was still deciding.
“It’s going come in handy, it will be so useful,” she said.
“I don’t know exactly how I will use it. I’ve never ever thought about what I would do if I won the lottery so I am a bit stuck at the moment.
“It’s just so surreal.
“The one thing I do know it that I will be sharing it with my family!”
The winning entry was purchased at Carrara Village Newsagency, Coco Shopping Centre, Cnr Gooding Drive & Manchester Road, Carrara.
Carrara Village Newsagency owner Steve Sharman said it was the second division one winning entry the outlet had sold in four months.
“We certainly feel as though we’re on a winning streak here at Carrara,” he said.
“In May we sold a division one winning entry to one of our locals and it’s great to do it again.
“We hope the good fortune continues for our customers.
“Congratulations to our latest winner!”
Last financial year, Saturday Gold Lotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4085 on Saturday 12 September 2020 were 31, 28, 12, 39, 36 and 27 while the supplementary numbers were 6 and 24.
Across Australia, there were eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4085 – three from Victoria, three from Queensland and two from New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 282 so far this calendar year, including 76 won by Golden Casket customers.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 318 division one winning Gold Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $346.12 million.
