Christmas has arrived a little early for a Rockhampton woman who was gifted a $100,000 winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket from a friend.
The top prize winning $5 Merry Money ticket was purchased at Capricorn News, 8 James Street, Yeppoon.
Sharing her joy with an official from The Lott this morning, the happy woman explained the win came as a complete surprise.
“A friend of mine gave me the ticket as an early Christmas present,” she explained.
“And hasn’t it worked out really well!
“I scratched it when I got home from seeing her and I honestly couldn’t believe it. I still can’t!
“What an absolute joy. I was beside myself.”
With $100,000 about to land in her bank account, the Rockhampton woman said it would be the perfect boost and be enjoyed for many years to come.
“I’m certainly going to share it with the person who gave it to me,” she said.
“Then I will think about the rest. I would love to help my children a little bit.
“It’s such nice timing, so close to Christmas!”
Capricorn News owner Duncan McClelland said he hoped this was the beginning of plenty more big wins for his customers.
