An Adelaide man visiting Tumby Bay for Christmas had an extra reason to be festive after scoring a $50,000 Keno prize.
The South Australian winner held a Keno Spot 8 winning entry in draw 231223 046 on Saturday 23 December 2023.
“Sweet! I had no idea I’d won!” the winning man exclaimed when an official from The Lott called the day after the draw to confirm his prize.
“I’ve only just had breakfast! What a great way to start the day!
“I’m just visiting Tumby Bay from Adelaide for Christmas and I like to play a game of Keno every now and then.
“I got this ticket yesterday, but I haven’t had the chance to check them yet.
“I’ve got to say, you’ve put a real sparkle in my step! Thank you!
“I’d love to do some home renovations so I think some of this prize will go towards that.
“Merry Christmas to me!”
His winning entry was purchased at Neindorf’s Friendly Grocer, Cnr Lipson Road and North Terrace, Tumby Bay.
Neindorf's Friendly Grocer owner Paul Neindorf said he was estatic to have sold another major prize winning ticket.
"Our customers will be pleased that we have sold another winner," he said.
"We sold a Saturday X Lotto division one winning ticket about 18 months ago and all up we have sold two Saturday X Lotto division one winners, one Instant Scratch-Its top prize and now a Keno Spot 8 win over the 29 years we have been here.
"Its just fantasitic that we have sold another winner from our outlet. We are just so p[leased for our winners."
In FY23, there were more than 5.8 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $101.88 million. This included 45 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $8.11 million.
The Spot 10 prize was won three times during this period, with the biggest being a $2.3 mllion prize won on a ticket from Lonsdale Hotel.
