A three-person private syndicate from Crystal Brook has spent the weekend in a state of disbelief after scoring a division one prize in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The private syndicate held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 3955, drawn Saturday 15 June 2019. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $942,419.40.
The latest division one win continues South Australia’s winning streak as it is the sixth division one prize to land in the state this month.
Sharing his joy with a SA Lotteries official this morning when confirming the win, the syndicate leader recounted how he discovered the news.
“I always check my numbers online every Sunday morning and I checked them on the weekend and I just couldn't believe it!” he laughed with glee.
“I’m still in shock I think! I still can’t believe it.
“It hasn’t really sunk in yet. When you’ve been buying tickets for nearly 40 years and usually only win a few dollars here and there when something like this happens it’s very good news.
“It’s a private syndicate and I called the other two people right after I checked my ticket on Sunday morning.
“When I told them we’d won they kept saying ‘you’re joking!’
“It’s just been one of those things I’ve kept dreaming of and hoping one day it will happen and now it has!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his share of the windfall, the thrilled winner confessed he had a few things to tick off his bucket list.
“I’m not sure how I’ll spend it exactly but I’ve got plenty of things I could spend it on,” he laughed.
“I’ve got a few things in mind and a bit of a bucket list so it will be put to good use!”
The syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 50-game QuickPick entry at Crystal Brook Newsagency & Giftware, 45 Bowman Street, Crystal Brook.
Crystal Brook Newsagency & Giftware owner Julie Arbon said she was very excited to discover her outlet had sold a division one winning entry.
“We’ll be sharing our exciting news with all of our wonderful customers and decorate the store!” she exclaimed.
“We might even pop some bubbly!
“All of our customers will be so excited and hoping they hold our next winning ticket.
“This is the first division one winning entry we have sold since taking over the store in 2017.
“It is exciting to know we have changed someone’s life financially. It is also great to put our little country town on the map.
“Congratulations to our customers on their division one win. We hope that they get a lot of pleasure from their winnings!”
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday X Lotto and Saturday X Lotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 3955 on Saturday 15 June 2019 were 24, 42, 8, 41, 18 and 39, while the supplementary numbers were 5 and 16.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 3955, one each from Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 161 so far this calendar year, including 14 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 280 division one winning Saturday X Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $306.19 million.
