More than a week after the draw, a pair of self-confessed battlers from Horsham have come forward to claim their $950,000 TattsLotto fortune.
The Horsham couple held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3953, drawn Saturday 8 June 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $953,391.46.
The ticket was unregistered, so Tatts officials had no way of contacting the winner with the life-changing news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.
Sharing her joy with a Tatts offical this morning, the winner confessed she still hadn’t got her head around the life-changing news.
“We checked the numbers at home and couldn’t believe it!” she exclaimed.
“I had to keep looking at it and looking at it and checking it and checking it.
“I still can’t believe it!
“We haven’t even done anything to celebrate because we didn’t want to believe it was true until it was confirmed.”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their windfall, the overwhelmed winner revealed the win had come at the perfect time for her and her husband.
“I don’t know how to feel! I don’t know what to think!” she laughed.
“We’ve just been battlers our whole lives. We haven’t really even talked about what we want to do with it because we just haven’t let ourselves believe it’s true.
“It’s great we have some freedom to decide what we want to do and it’s come at a really good time for us.”
The winning entry was purchased at Horsham Plaza Lotto, Shop 6, Horsham Plaza, Darlot Street, Horsham.
Horsham Plaza Lotto owner Kristin McIntyre said she was thrilled their winners had been united with their prize.
“It’s just fantastic we’ve found our winners!” she exclaimed.
“We are so happy for them and are so pleased they are locals to the area.
“We wish them all the best!”
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3953 on Saturday 8 June 2019 were 22, 24, 42, 36, 39 and 1, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 12.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 3953, one each from New South Wales, South Australia and two from Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 161 so far this calendar year, including 74 won by Tatts customers.
In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 280 division one winning TattsLotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $306.19 million.
