No sleep for Hawkesbury man after late-night $2.8 million discovery

A Hawkesbury man was left tossing and turning with excitement after a late-night ticket check revealed his newly minted millionaire status.

“I’m pretty alright today! Thank you so much,” he laughed.

“I checked it Saturday night and I was gobsmacked.

“I said to my wife, ‘You better wake up and check this!’. She couldn’t believe it either.

“I was a bit too excited to get to sleep after that.

“There’s lots of things we’d love to do but we’ll have a good think about it.

“It was just a QuickPick entry but I think I’ll keep these numbers as my lucky numbers.”

His winning entry was purchased from North Richmond Newsagency, Heritage Plaza, Shop 3, 15-17 Bells Line Of Road, North Richmond.

North Richmond Newsagency owner Asha Oza shared she was awestruck to have sold her first division one winning entry since taking over ownership of the store.

“When I saw we’d sold a division one winning entry, I was absolutely thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone for our customer,” she said.

“We are beyond thrilled to have been the lucky charm that sparked this life-altering transformation for someone! It is a true honour to witness such a massive win turn into a magnificent reality.

“It only takes a single spark of hope and one golden ticket to ignite a spectacular transformation in your life.”
