An Elizabeth man is ready to set sail after scoring a $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize in draw 2480346, drawn 1 April 2019.

Speaking to an SA Lotteries official this afternoon to claim his prize, the happy man confessed the out-of-the-blue news came as a complete surprise.

“I don’t usually answer my phone to private numbers so this phone call came completely out of nowhere!” he laughed.

“I play lottery games every week and grab a Keno ticket about once a week when I am putting on my other entries.

“I’ve played for quite a long time for a bit of fun and I’ve never won anything like this. It’s come as a huge surprise!

“You’ve made my day – and my year!”

When asked how he planned to spend his Keno Spot 8 windfall, the thrilled man revealed he had his sights set on a cruise to Fiji.

“I’m still paying off my last holiday to Fiji so this will be great!” he laughed.

“I’ll pay off that one and then book another one.

“I’ll go on a cruise to Fiji; it’s a nice, beautiful way to travel. You won’t catch me at an airport!”

The stoked bloke, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno 8 Spot entry at Munno Para Newsagency, Shops 17-19, Munno Para Shopping Centre, Main North Road, Smithfield.

Munno Para Newsagency team member Mel said she was thrilled her outlet had sold another major prize.

“Keno is a really popular game at our outlet and we’re so happy that one of our regulars has taken home this great prize!” she exclaimed.

“Our lovely customer is a well deserving recipient of this fantastic windfall.

“We’ve had a few major prizes sold at our outlet and we think we’re very lucky!”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 26 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who landed more than $5.026 million.  Spot 10 was won twice during this time – a prize of more than $1.474 million won in Mawson Lakes in April 2018, and a prize of more than $1.7 million won in Mansfield Park in October 2018.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
