An Elizabeth South man will be spending the week house-hunting after scoring a division one win worth over $1 million in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw, three days before his rental lease ended.
The happy winner held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4069, drawn Saturday 18 July 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,053,905.78.
Sharing his joy with an official from the Lott this morning, the winner revealed the win had come at a fortunate time for him and his wife.
“Thank you! Thank you! The win couldn’t have come at a better time!” he exclaimed.
“We’ve got to move out of our house this week due to our lease ending and instead of looking for a new rental we’ll be able to go house shopping!
“I already had an entry into the weekend’s draw, but late last week I decided to buy another one.
“I’m glad I did because that was the one that won!
“I discovered the news on Sunday morning when I went to my local newsagency.
“When I scanned the ticket and it said, ‘go to counter’, and the lady advised me she couldn’t pay me out, that’s when I realised I’d won something big.
“When she told me I had won division one I just thought ‘wow’.
“It’s not something you expect to happen.
“One minute you’re going about life as usual, and the next you have a lot of money.
“It’s a strange feeling, but it will really change our lifestyle!”
The winning entry was purchased at Elizabeth South Newsagency & Post Office, Shop 10, Elizabeth South Shopping Centre, 100 Phillip Highway, Elizabeth South.
Elizabeth South Newsagency & Post Office owner Ki Jun said he was surprised by the unexpected news his outlet had sold a division one winning entry.
“I was very excited when I saw the notification we had sold a division one prize!” he exclaimed.
“I will be sharing the celebrations of the win with my customers this week.
“Our customers will be so happy to hear that a local and regular customer has won.
“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning entry, so we are thrilled!
“Congratulations to our winner! We wish him a happy life ahead with this win!”
Last financial year, Saturday X Lotto created 127 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4069 on Saturday 18 July 2020 were 35, 21, 2, 43, 18 and 22, while the supplementary numbers were 10 and 37.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4069 – two each from South Australia and Western Australia, and one from Victoria.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 211 so far this calendar year, including 17 won by SA Lotteries customers.
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 318 division one winning Saturday X Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $346.12 million.
