An Essendon mum has relayed the moment she woke up her entire family at midnight on Sunday morning  with the news they won division one in TattsLotto.

The winning customers held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4123, drawn Saturday 23 January 2021. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize worth $678,308.17.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the winners explained they had waited until the news had sunk in before claiming their prize.

“Thank you so much,” the winning woman laughed.

“I actually found out on Sunday morning just after midnight.

“I couldn’t sleep, so I checked the winning numbers. I always look at our ticket and find the smallest and the largest number on the ticket and then look at the winning numbers and see if they’re there.

“I realised I did have two numbers, so I looked again and I thought ‘oh my god, I think I have them all’. I scanned my ticket on my phone to be sure and that’s when I knew it was true.

“I couldn’t believe it! I was shaking like a leaf!

“I bolted straight to my daughter’s bedroom and woke her up and said ‘you’re not going to believe this, but we won division one in TattsLotto!’. She just broke down into tears.

“When I told my husband, he initially thought something was wrong, because I was waking him up and it was so late at night.

“He was very happy when he realised I was actually sharing good news with him.

“It still feels so surreal! I just need time to enjoy the fact we have won division one.

“I will feel a lot better tonight, now that I know it’s real.”

When asked how the winning family intended to enjoy their prize, the overjoyed mum said they’d spent the past two days planning.

“We will pay off our mortgage and the bills we have,” she shared.

“Of course, we will spoil ourselves with a few things and I’d like to go on a family holiday soon.”

The winning entry was purchased at Essendon Newsagency, 15 Rose Street, Essendon.

Essendon Newsagency owner Tony Nguyen said he was thrilled the winner had come forward.

“It’s fantastic!” he said.

“The winning family actually came into the outlet today and told me they won.

“It was great to be able to share in the winning moment.

“We couldn’t be happier for them and we hope they can do some fun things with their prize.

“Hopefully we have some more wins soon.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4123 on 23 January 2021 were 6, 8, 40, 10, 29 and 1, while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 42.

Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4123 – three each from Queensland and Victoria, two from Western Australia and one from New South Wales.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 254 so far this financial year, including 101 won by Tatts customers.
