A Morwell woman has admitted she was completely oblivious to the fact she has been walking around $200,000 richer for a week after scoring the 1st Prize in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Victorian woman won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,00 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1398, drawn Tuesday 23 July 2019.
Sharing her joy with a Tatts official this afternoon, the winner recounted how she discovered the life-changing news.
“I can’t believe it! Oh my god!” she exclaimed once the news was confirmed.
“It’s true? It is really true? Far out! Unbelievable.
“I had no idea I was a winner. I just went down to the newsagent to put this week’s lottery tickets on and checked my ticket.
“It scanned up as it couldn’t be paid and the girl behind the counter said ‘that’s strange. You’ll have to check the numbers.’
“So I came home and checked it and couldn’t believe my eyes!”
When asked how she planned to celebrate the surprise windfall, the thrilled winner confessed she hadn’t got far in her planning.
“I haven’t had a chance to think about it yet!” she laughed.
“I’m sure we will pay a big chunk off the house and use it towards some renovations.
“We are off to the USA next year for a holiday so this will go towards that too!”
The thrilled woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her entry of one random number at Morwell Lottery Centre, 174-175 Commercial Road, Morwell.
Morwell Lottery Centre owner Raymond Burgess said he was thrilled a local had scored a major prize.
“Our outlet has sold a few over the years but since we took it over seven years ago we’ve sold three major prizes including this one,” he explained.
“What is really exciting is it is the first major prize we’ve sold in Lucky Lotteries which is great.
“We are so happy for our winner and we wish them all the best with it!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $86.68 million for draw 1408 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $2.84 million for draw 10303.
