Four months after the draw, a young North Sydney woman has fished a $2.7 million winning Saturday Lotto ticket from the bottom of her handbag, discovering she’s unknowingly been a multi-millionaire since the beginning of the year.

The mystery Sydney resident held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw, draw 4011 on Saturday 28 December 2019. Each division one winning entry took home a prize of $2,727,272.73.

Confirming her life-changing win with an official from the Lott this morning, the woman revealed she had no idea the winning ticket had been there all along.

“Thank you very much!” she laughed.

“That’s amazing. That ticket has been in my handbag for the last four months!

“I knew it was there the whole time but of course I didn’t think it was worth almost $3 million!

“I just wasn’t in a rush to check it and I just thought of it yesterday and decided to check it!

“I was in shock. I was so surprised.

“Of course I didn’t think it was real when I checked the ticket but it feels a lot more real now.

“Regardless of the timing and knowing that I could have had my prize months ago, it’s still so sweet now.

“It’s just wonderful!”

When asked how she planned enjoy her division one fortune, the young woman said she’d be sharing her prize with loved ones.

“Well a friend bought me that ticket,” she explained.

“So I will certainly be sharing some with them.

“But the rest I don’t know! It’s still in shock and it will take some time to figure out.

“I’m isolating at home at the moment so I will have plenty of time to think about it, but I know I will definitely be sharing it with my family.”

The multi-million-dollar winning entry was purchased at Queens Square Newsagency, 229 Macquarie Street, Sydney.

Queens Square Newsagency owner Peter Wang said he was relieved to hear the winner had finally claimed their prize.

“This is fantastic news!” he exclaimed.

“It’s been so long since the draw, I was really beginning to worry that someone had lost the ticket.

“It’s great to hear that this woman has finally be united with her prize.

“Congratulations to her!”
