A Fullarton woman having lunch with her husband yesterday finished her dessert as a millionaire after scoring a Keno Spot 10 prize worth over $1.4 million.

The happy woman scored the Keno Spot 10 prize in draw 119, drawn Monday 1 March 2021, and takes home a prize worth $1,478,105.70.

Sharing her excitement with an official from The Lott, the winner recounted the moment she discovered her life-changing win.

“It’s all a bit surreal!” she laughed.

“It’s crazy! I don’t think my husband believes what happened to us, even though he was there.

“We went out for lunch, and we thought we’d play a few games while we were there.

“We don’t choose our numbers; we just grabbed a QuickPick and then sat down to our meal.

“We weren’t watching the game or checking the numbers until the barman came over to us and let us know we should check our tickets because someone at the venue had won a major prize.

“We were immediately nervous in case it wasn’t us and we didn’t want to get too excited until it was all confirmed.

“Once we realised he couldn’t pay us out because the prize was too large, that’s when it really started to sink in!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her life as a newly-minted millionaire, the happy woman declared she would be putting it away for the future.

“We’ve already decided we are going to put it away in the bank for a few months to think about it!” she declared.

“People always talk about what they would do when they win big amounts of money, but when it really happens, it’s hard to make any decisions.

“We don’t want to do anything rash, so we’ll just take a few months to think about it.

“We will hopefully be able to use it towards an overseas holiday sometime next year!”

The winning entry was purchased at Arkaba Hotel, 150 Glen Osmond Road, Fullerton.

In 2020, there were 37 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $5.81 million.
