A generous Kingston grandmother is looking forward to spoiling her family after scoring $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Tasmanian player won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1329, drawn Tuesday 28 May 2019.
It is the ninth major lottery prize to land in the state this year, and the sixth for the Apple Isle in May alone.
Despite being registered to a Tatts Card, officials were not able to contact the winning player on the details provided which meant she was oblivious to her win until she checked her ticket today.
“I had no idea! I just came in to buy another entry. I can’t believe it!” she exclaimed.
“I saw that I had a few missed calls, but I don’t answer calls from unknown numbers.
“I might have to start picking them up from now on if it means I’ve won some money!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her Lucky Lotteries windfall, the shocked-but-happy woman revealed it would go towards spoiling her beloved family.
“I never really thought about what I would do with a prize like this because I never thought I would win!” she laughed.
“I’ll definitely use it to help out my grandchildren.”
The Tasmanian winner also revealed she had only started playing Lucky Lotteries recently.
“I started playing Lucky Lotteries a few months ago and I’ve only won $10 here and there.
“Hopefully you will be calling me again for the jackpot prize. I’ll make sure I answer my phone!”
The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry of four random numbers at Kingston Town Lotto, Shop 22, Kingston Town Shopping Centre, 93-99 Maranoa Road, Kingston.
Kingston Town Lotto owner Vanessa Irvine said she was thrilled her outlet had sold its first Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize.
“It has been a fantastic feeling telling all of our customers that we’ve sold a Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize!” she exclaimed.
“They have all been really excited for us and have been buying entries into the next draw knowing we are a lucky store.
“We have sold two division one winning entries and a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its but it has been about a year since our last big win.
“We are so excited for our customer, and we wish them all the best with their prize!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $68.68 million for draw 1333 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.41 million for draw 10292.
