It wasn’t just a Glen Waverley woman’s Monday morning gym session that left her feeling numb and sent her heart racing, but the revelation she won division one in last night’s Set for Life draw.
The Victorian held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Set for Life draw 3342 on Sunday 29 September 2024. She won $4.8 million paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 over 20 years.
“I’m standing in the middle of a carpark, and I’ve just checked my ticket!” she exclaimed when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I literally just finished my gym workout and saw I had these missed calls.
“Normally, I get my Set for Life entry every Friday – you’ve got to have hope, don’t you? It’s nice to dream big. Human beings have got to have a little hope. But I never expected to win more than maybe $11!
“It allows me to make decisions. Freedom is what it allows me. But my first priority will be to see a financial planner.
“I’ve been saving for a house so this will certainly help.
“I’m reeling… but also feel numb! You just never expect it to happen to you.
“I’m going to have to go to work today and breeze through and act normal.
“Thank you for this. This changes everything!”
The woman’s winning 10-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The woman is the sixth Set for Life division one winner this month, making September 2024 the month with the most Set for Life division one winners since the game began in 2015.
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 3342 on Monday 30 September 2024 were 8, 29, 39, 30, 37, 41 and 21, while the supplementary numbers were 22 and 16.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Set for Life draw 3342 – one in Victoria and one in Western Australia.
This marks the 140th Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the 15th Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 336 so far in FY24, including 125 won by Tatts customers.
In FY24, there were 12 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who will receive $57.6 million during the next 20 years.
By 30 June 2024, more than $131.48 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 130 Set for Life division one winners across Australia.
