A Gold Coast grandmother has declared she is still in ‘la la land’ after discovering she won $100,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket she purchased to help cure her isolation boredom.
The $5 20 X the Cash Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Nextra Nerang Mall, Shop G17, 7-29 Cayuga Street, Nerang Mall, Nerang.
Speaking with an official from the Lott today, the overwhelmed woman explained how the win was life-changing for her family.
“Gosh, I am still in la la land!” she laughed.
“When I scratched the ticket I had a huge smile! I absolutely screamed the newsagency down!
“It still hasn’t sunk in! I can’t believe I bought myself one ticket, and I won $100,000.
“It’s a ridiculous amount of money. It really will change my life.
“It’s been an absolute godsend! It feels so surreal. I can’t fathom it!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant win, the loving mum said she couldn’t wait to spoil her family.
“My greatest joy is to be able to share it with my kids,” she shared.
“They have already been sending me cars they want to buy!
“All I really want is a fridge and freezer. One of those fancy ones that you can get the ice and water from the front.
“I wouldn’t mind a new washing machine too!
“I’ve never been overseas either. It would be nice to get a passport and put some of it towards a future trip!”
Nextra Nerang Mall co-owner Porsche Cheung said he was thrilled to have been able to share in the winning moment with his customer.
“It’s bloody fantastic!” he said.
“The look on her face when I confirmed it was pure disbelief!
“She was on the verge of tears. She’d bought it to cure the isolation boredom, and I am sure it certainly did just that!
“It was unreal. She was so excited!
“You never get tired of confirming that exciting news. It was so nice to be able to share that moment!
“Hopefully we can sell more major prize winning tickets and be able to share in a winning moment with another customer soon.”
