A Goulburn man is praising his cat Felix for inspiring him to buy a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot ticket that landed him a $200,000 windfall.
The Southern Tablelands resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1153, drawn Wednesday 7 November 2018.
The man’s entry of two consecutive numbers also scored a $1,000 consolation prize.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official today to claim his prize, the man couldn’t hide his excitement at his good fortune.
“That’s very good news, very good news indeed,” the man exclaimed.
“Look, it’s a real buzz. It’s going to make a great difference to my life.”
The self-confessed cat lover explained he was drawn to buying an entry into the Lucky Lotteries draw because of the game’s feline mascot.
“With a stroke of luck, we ended up with a few cats. They all love me to death and have taken over my life!” he laughed.
“Anything to do with a cat, particularly Felix who is black and white like the Lucky Lotteries cat, I get involved in.
“So I have to thank Felix for this win.
“I can’t wait to see the prize land in my account and I can start planning how I’m going to use it.”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of two consecutive numbers at newsXpress Goulburn, Goulburn Plaza, 217 Auburn Street, Goulburn.
newsXpress Goulburn owner Sally Stein said it was a lovely surprise to see her long-standing outlet sell another big winning entry.
“We’ve been here about 40-odd years so we’re no stranger to wins,” she said.
“We’ve sold a few Lucky Lotteries 1st Prizes over that time and it’s always wonderful to add another happy customer to that list.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $25.96 million for draw 1155 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.28 million for draw 10256.
