A Pennington player enjoyed more than just a meal and a drink at the Grand Junction Tavern when they scored a $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize on the weekend – the second Keno Spot 8 prize the outlet has sold in just six weeks.

The South Australian winner scored a Keno Spot 8 prize of $50,000 in draw 2538493, drawn on Sunday 15 September 2019.

However, how the winner plans to spend their Keno windfall and enjoy their $50,000 prize will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The win comes just six weeks after the outlet sold a Keno Spot 8 winning entry worth $50,000 in draw 25250724 on Saturday 26 July 2019, which was won by an Ottoway man who planned to use the windfall to reunite with his family on an overseas holiday.

The winning Keno Spot 8 entry was purchased at Grand Junction Tavern, 174 Grand Junction Road, Pennington.

Grand Junction Tavern Hotel Manager Dillon Forrest said he was thrilled another one of his patrons had scored a major prize.

“We can’t believe we’ve sold two major prizes in such short time!” he exclaimed.

“It feels like it was just yesterday so it’s hard to believe it has been six weeks.

“You know what they say – good things come in threes! Hopefully we sell another major prize soon!

“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the best with their prize!”

Henley shopper scores $50,000 Keno 8 Spot prize

The Grand Junction Tavern prize is the second Keno win to land in Adelaide in just 10 days after a Henley Beach shopper scored a $50,000 prize in draw 2535780 drawn Saturday 7 September 2019.

The winning entry was purchased at South Henley Newsagency, 47 Henley Beach Road, Henley Beach.

SA Lotteries spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said Keno winners often shared the windfall gave them a great reason to splurge on the things they enjoy most.

“While we may not know how our latest winners will spend their $50,000 Keno Spot 8 windfalls, what we do know is they would have had a winning moment they will never forget!” she exclaimed

“Other winners tell us they spend their windfalls on holidays, home renovations or treating themselves to a new car.

“However they choose to spend their windfall we are sure they will enjoy it!”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2019, there were 27 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $5.98 million.  The Spot 10 prize was won twice during this time – a win worth more than $1.7 million was won in Mansfield Park in October 2018, and a prize of more than $2.1 million was won in Findon in June 2019.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
